Lisa Frazier is a phenomenal seasoned performer who has performed worldwide. She is a gifted singer/songwriter who began her career at twelve. At that age, she was singing for various political and religious functions in the DC area.
Lisa attended the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she majored in vocal performance and was a member of the Everyman Street Theatre Company, performing a variety of musical theatre plays throughout the east coast, including Lincoln Center and Kennedy Center.
Lisa attended the renowned Oberlin Conservatory receiving a full scholarship majoring in Vocal Performance. After college, she went
back to her musical theatre roots performing "The Fantastiks" as Luisa at Howard University's Ira Aldridge Theatre, where she received rave reviews and performed as the Narrator in Andrew Lloyd Webber's" Joseph" the Amazing Techni-colored Dreamcoat" at the City Line Theatre in Philadelphia.
Lisa decided to put together a girl's group with the help of her manager. She asked two of her musical theatre mates to join her. They moved to Los Angeles, were signed to Wing/Polygram records, and found themselves with a top 10 Billboard song and several top-charting songs as well. Lace was a success and featured in several magazines, television, and video shows, including BET's Video Soul, & Video Vibrations, Live at the Apollo, CNN's Showbiz Tonight, & Soul Train to name a few.
This was only the beginning for Lisa; she recorded her solo album on the
UDP/Universal label entitled "Heart of Gold." Her single "Somewhere Tonight" remixed by Tony Moran ran up the DMA charts to #3. Lisa was able to tour throughout Europe and Japan, performing her "Heart of Gold" album at a variety of sold-out venues and performances on a variety of television shows, including performing for Luciano Pavarotti at his estate in Italy.
Lisa has been featured on television and stages throughout the world! She has sung on several movie soundtracks, including "Losing Isaiah," where she was featured, and the movie "Perfect Holiday". Lisa also sang on several jingles aired nationally, including Coca-Cola, Mitsubishi, and Gatorade. She was also featured on several television shows, including "Orleans." She was featured with Jimi Jamieson on the Survivor album single "Empires," in which she sings a beautiful duet.
Lisa has toured with a variety of artists, most recently with the super talented soul-conscious singer Ziggy Marley on his "Love is my religion "tour. She has toured, recorded, or performed with; Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, George Duke, Boz Scaggs, Stevie Wonder, Bobby Womack, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Lopez, and a host of other artists and projects. Lisa Frazier is currently working on her sophomore solo recording project, "Expressions" to be released sometime next year.
